Peaceful Morning

I'm enjoying a quiet day at home. Yesterday was full and busy with all three of the grandbabies here and the kids. I enjoyed seeing all of them. There's nothing as sweet as grandbabies! Today is a much-needed day of rest and relaxation before starting another work week tomorrow. I did laundry early this morning and hung it outside to dry. ( I consider this equal to therapy. There's nothing like hanging freshly washed clothes out to dry.) Then I headed off to my favorite place in the world... my picnic table by the pond. It's a beautiful morning. Clear blue sky, warm, and a nice breeze blowing. The mountain smells sweet like honeysuckle. I'm glad I decided to push the housework aside and spend the morning outside. It won't be long before the weather will turn hot and humid. I'm going to treasure good weather days and savor them. I guess it's a lesson I'm learning as I get older. I need to make time to rest and renew myself. Life is always in high gear and I feel what most of us are missing is rest.

Anyway, I enjoyed praying, reading my Bible, and working on my Bible study lesson by the pond surrounded by nature and the sweet smelling breeze. Now I'm refreshed and ready to work on my next Apprentice lesson for Christian Writers Guild.

I'm still working on making wiser choices with my food. I fixed a nice salad for my lunch, and I'm enjoying it as I type this. This healthy eating is getting easier, though it still takes more time than just grabbing something quick and unhealthy. I keep reminding myself that it will be worth it if I just stick with it and that my health and well being are worth the extra effort it takes.
