I'm doing a major happy dance today. Forty pounds of fat is gone! It feels good to accomplish another goal. It's been such a long process, but I'm slowly seeing results. The Weight Watchers meetings have been vital to my success. I always get something from them and walk out of there feeling like I can keep going for another week.
I've also been doing the First Place 4 Health Bible study, A New Beginning. I love their Bible studies, because they keep my mind focused on being healthy in all areas: Physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental. Each lesson fits in well with my daily devotional time and keeps me focused on my personal relationship with God.
I've been practicing my dancing more and trying to walk outside as much as possible on nice weather days. I'm surprised by how much time and effort it takes to get healthy. Last week a lady in my Weight Watchers meeting met her goal weight. Her words of wisdom to the rest of us at the meeting:
"It's really, really hard and takes a lot of work, but I decided I am worth it."
That truly sums it up. There is no magic formula or quick fix. Weight loss and caring for my health all comes down to working hard, and I have to do that work, but the effort will pay off in the end with great benefits. I am worth it! There's a lot of things in my life that I can't change, but how I take care of myself is one thing I can change. With God's strength, First Place 4 Health, Weight Watchers, and tons of hard work, I will get there.

I've been keeping busy with my job, making time for my health, trying to catch up with yard work and house work, working on my writing course lessons and several other writing projects, plus my latest baby...my fiction novel, Callie's Roses. I never wrote fiction before, other than a few short stories. I considered myself a nonfiction writer. I didn't know what I was missing! This fiction book has been so much fun and working on it is simply refreshing. I'm having a blast and find myself thinking about my characters throughout the day. The chapters just seem to be flowing.

Congratulations, Joni!!! I'm so proud of and for you!!
