"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail" is a slogan I often hear at my Weight Watchers meetings and it's true. I find I struggle more when I have nothing prepared for the work week. Monday is my day off, and I try to prepare most of my meals for the week ahead. It takes a few hours but it is worth the time and effort. I like coming home and knowing dinner is ready. All I have to do is heat it up. I enjoy cooking, but after work I'm tired and just want to relax. Cooking ahead helps me stay on track.
With the arrival of fall, I am working on creating healthy soups. I'm also trying to eat organic as much as possible. I made Organic Beef Vegetable Soup today. Soup is so comforting, plus it takes longer to eat a bowl of hot soup than it takes to gulp down a sandwich or frozen dinner. Last week I was battling my first cold of the season. I made homemade organic chicken noodle soup and took it for my lunch all week. It was soothing and helped me feel better, plus it was low in Weight Watchers points. I'm creating some low-point recipes using the online E-tools provided on the Weight Watchers web site. I love the recipe builder tool, as it allows you to plug in your ingredients and it figures the points for you. What could be easier than that?
I will be adding a recipe section to this blog in the future. Stay tuned...
Two of my favorite fall teas are Bigelow Pumpkin Spice and Apple Cider. Yummy!
