Wow! How easy it is to get totally derailed from your weight loss efforts. I was breezing along doing well. I had started walking and practicing my tap and ballet dancing again. The weight was coming off and I felt confident that I would keep focused. Then life happened....again.
Somewhere between feeling confident and today, I got side tracked by the distractions of life and fell back into those old habits again. I avoided going to Weight Watchers for several weeks, which was a big mistake. I finally got up the courage to face the scale today and went to my meeting. I had a six pound gain, but was glad I went. Facing our slip ups is part of the process. Not fun but it is what it is whether we skip our meeting or not. We know when we aren't doing well and we aren't getting away with anything when we avoid the truth.
The meeting topic today was about making time for yourself. Time to go to your weekly meeting. Time to exercise and prepare healthy foods. It was exactly what I needed. I left there wondering why in the world I ever miss a meeting. I get so much insight from the meetings and always leave there feeling inspired and encouraged to keep moving on with my weight loss efforts. I decided I will be diligent about making time to go to my meeting each week. It's an important part of the process. I need to face that scale and I need the accountability and encouragement from my leader and group members.
I'm back on track once again and so very thankful that we can always start new and fresh, no matter how may times we fall. Today is a new day and I'm moving on with my goals, making sure to write my weekly meeting in my planner just as if it's any other important meeting or appointment. It's something important that I'm doing for myself and my health.
